I Love You Tata Gor!

My dear lolo passed on today. Somehow we all knew this day would come, but it still came as a devastating surprise, like how they say it always does. To think that my family was still making plans a few days back about how we'd bring lolo back to the Philippines next summer and take him to his hometown, Catanduanes. That vacation may still happen, but we all know it won't be the same.

My lolo, Gregorio Soliman (Dec.26, 1930 - May 4, 2012)

Tata, ang daya mo naman eh. Sabi ko ililibre pa kita, kasi lagi na lang ikaw nagbibigay samin. I love you so much like I always say in the cards that we send you. I'll miss hearing your voice on the phone at pangungumusta mo sa amin. Dapat natuto ka na mag facetime and skype para nakikita ka rin namin when we talk. I'll forever cherish the things you've told me, the encouragement that you always give me. Tata, it's just too soon, and the fact that you're in the States right now makes the longing even worse. I wish they'd bring you back here so we can give you our proper respects. Thank you so much for the life you spent loving us. I love you.
