The Five People I Want to Meet on Earth

One of the best pieces of advice I ever got upon entering high school was that I should treat everyone I meet with respect because in a way the people who I establish connections with today and in the future serve as my social capital, which is one resource everyone can do well to have.

This may sound a bit off to some people because it hints at connecting with people with the thought of having them serve some purpose in your life, but the reality is we are interconnected and in one way or another, deliberate or not, whether we are aware of it or completely indifferent to the fact, everyone we meet has a potential we can tap into and serve its purpose in our lives. It goes the other way around too in that we ourselves have something to offer that will serve its purpose in the lives of people we meet. That's the wonderful symbiosis at play in our everyday relations.

Having said that here's a list of people I would really like to have in my social bank.

A Perfumer. I just think it will be totally cool to have one of these le nez's (nose) create a perfume that's inspired by me and is distinctly mine. That and the fact that i'm totally clueless on the wonders accessible only to a fully developed olfactory system.

A Seamstress. And make that a seamstress with a sense of style and some mad hand and eye skills when it comes to sewing and repairing clothes. I think all women should have one, will just make life so much easier and fashion so much more attainable.

A fab-smart-loyal-GAY bestfriend.  I need to confess. I envy girls who have found their better halves in gay men. It's just a relationship that I think has all the perks of a guy and girl friendship minus the ugly complications. Will Truman easily comes to mind and so does Boy Abunda.

A Fisherman. I love seafood. Crabs, oysters, clams, scallops, salmon, prawns.. you name it. But seafood can be pricey and the quality you find in the market may not exactly be the best if you don't know the right places and the right people from which to get them. So a fisherman who knows his stuff is a must for my intense cravings that come every other week.

A Photographer. And by that I don't mean just anyone who wields a camera. I mean real photographer with the know how on lighting, angles, effects etc. I just think it will be great to have someone tag along during trips or parties who'll take amazing shots... of me. hahaha :p
